Sacrifice of Isaac by Rembrandt 1635
Pilgrim Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod)
Burton, Michigan
We worship together, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Greetings to each of you on this Lord's day!
OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP TODAY
Today we learn of faithful Abraham, when tested by God, was completely obedient and faithful in a most terrible situation. We’ll learn how Isaac, Abraham’s son was also faithful. But most importantly God Himself was and remains always faithful to His promises and to His children, including you and me, who God loves more than we can ever understand!
Memory verse from our Scripture readings this week: James 1:12
“Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love Him.
Stewardship verse from our Scripture readings this week: James 1:17
“Every good gift, and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father
of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.”
Remembering that everything you have is a good and perfect gift from God
helps us be thankful and generous with others!
O Lord, make this so in our lives, every day! Amen.
Praying God’s blessings on you and your family this week,
Pastor Mark
