Pilgrim Lutheran Church
The Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
October 5, 2025
We're thankful you've come here to watch our service and to worship the one true God!
This was another exciting Sunday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church! We've returned to our regular Sunday schedule, starting with Adult Bible class at 9:15 am and then our 10:30 am Worship service. Afterward, we gathered for food and conversations, while the children enjoyed Sunday School. These classes are full of activities and teaching, so the children learn how much God loves them!
If you live in the Burton area, please consider joining us on Sunday mornings! Anyone can watch our services live on Facebook or on Pilgrim's website.
Here is information about this worship service:
SCRIPTURE READINGS
Old Testament: Habakkuk 1:1–4, 2:1–4
Psalm: Psalm 62
Epistle: 2 Timothy 1:1–14
Gospel: Luke 17:1–10
THEME FOR WORSHIP
Today we stand at our watch-post with God’s prophet Habakkuk: “…how long shall we cry…, …and You not hear?” Yet, God always hears our cries, even when it seems not. Directly and in His perfect timing, today God speaks into our immediate neighborhood where evil presses so near to us.
In today’s Epistle reading, God encourages us through Paul’s second letter to young Timothy. God reminds you of the sincere faith He’s given to you and which dwells in you. God encourages you to fan your faith into flames, giving you power to press onward without fear against the evil around you.
