   Old Testament: 1 Kings 17:8-24

                Psalm: Psalm 118:14-18

               Epistle: 1 Corinthians 15:12-28, 50-58

               Gospel: Luke 7:11-17

OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP:   The Hand of the Lord Who Raises the Dead

Death touches us all.  But when Jesus touches death, it’s stopped dead in its tracks.  On Calvary’s cross, Jesus destroyed death by His death.  Christ touched death, and death was overcome by His resurrection life. When our sin and its deadly consequences are touched by Jesus in Baptism, we’re united to His death and resurrection. So, we are now “dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11).
