Supper at Emmaus, Caravaggio 1601
The Third Sunday of Easter
April 23, 2023
We're thankful you've come here to watch our service and to worship the one true God!
This was another exciting Sunday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church! Once again, we had lots of great activities going on, starting with our 10:30 am Worship Service. Afterward, we gathered for food, conversations, and Adult Bible study, while the children enjoyed Sunday School. These classes are full of activities and teaching, so the children learn how much God loves them!
If you live in the Burton area, please consider joining us on Sunday mornings! Anyone can watch our services live on Facebook or later on Pilgrim's website.
Here is information about today's worship service:

OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP
Today we join the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, looking sad because they had hoped Jesus was the one to redeem Israel. They had been with Jesus, hearing His teaching and observing His miracles, yet still Him they did not see. Even after Jesus had revealed the Scriptures to them, their eyes remained closed.

You’ve arrived here today, like at Emmaus, with closed & squinting eyes, sometimes at least not seeing Jesus. And yet today, like He continuously does, Jesus reveals Himself to you, Jesus opens your eyes, Jesus makes Himself known to all of us!
