OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP SUNDAY
Ah, love. We all know at least some things about love, but love is complex and usually confusing! The Epistle reading for today is literally all about love. It is divided into three sections: the necessity of love, love’s character, and the permanence of love. We usually read from this text a list of attributes and actions for us to take, perhaps with the hope that God and others will love us more if we become more patient, kind, etc… But that misses the most important message in this text: God alone is the source of love and God Himself is love. How does this play out in your life and mine? Come, hear what Jesus has to say!
