BIBLE READINGS FOR TODAY'S SERVICE
Old Testament: Isaiah 11:1–10
Psalm: Psalm 146
Epistle: James 5:7-11
Gospel: Luke 7:18–23
OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP
Not unlike in the days of Isaiah, God's prophet, the world around us is rather frightening. These are difficult times, not well-suited for the faint-hearted, nor the weak-kneed. Wars and conflicts continue around the world, in our country and in our communities. We continue to be battered by a pandemic which waxes and wanes with no apparent reason. God's Church and our faith are always under siege, continually attacked on all sides. This is not a good time to be faint-hearted, nor weak-kneed. Where is there joy for us? I mean, life-changing, joy-based encouragement?
