THEME FOR WORSHIP
Today we celebrate the 16th century Reformation of the Christian Church. As much as we may think, the point of the Reformation and our celebration is not that some Christians finally goth their theology right. The point is not to celebrate certain people for what they confess.
Rather, the point the Reformation worthy of celebration is that God preserves His Church by delivering His Son to sinners. This Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the Church’s life. So, we celebrate and proclaim this Gospel, focusing on how Jesus described our Christian life in today’s Gospel lesson.
