Pilgrim Worship Sunday April 16, 2023

  Pilgrim Lutheran Church

The Second Sunday of Easter

April 16, 2023

We're thankful you've come here to watch our service and to worship the one true God!

This was another exciting Sunday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church!  Once again, we had lots of great activities going on, starting with our 10:30 am Worship Service.  Afterward, we gathered for food, conversations, and Adult Bible study, while the children enjoyed Sunday School.  These classes are full of activities and teaching, so the children learn how much God loves them!

If you live in the Burton area, please consider joining us on Sunday mornings!  Anyone can watch our services live on Facebook or later on Pilgrim's website.

Here is information about today's worship service:

SCRIPTURE READINGS
   First Reading:  Acts 5:29–42
              Psalm:  Psalm 148
             Epistle:  1 Peter 1:3–9
             Gospel:  John 20:19–31

OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP
Second to Jesus, His disciple Thomas is the best-known participant in our Gospel text for today.  In fact, this text was so valued by the church fathers, it is assigned for this Sunday in all three years of the common lectionary and in the one-year lectionary!  Throughout the Christian church on earth, lots of folks today are hearing of Thomas!
Our focus will be more directly on Jesus, and the priceless gift He gives to His disciples and to us.  Jesus gives His peace, even though we doubt!

Peace in Christ, our Savior & King,
