Pilgrim Worship Sunday May 8, 2022

 Pilgrim Lutheran Church

The Fourth Sunday of Easter

May 8, 2022

We're glad & thankful you've come here to watch our service and to worship the one true God!

This was another exciting Sunday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church!  Once again, we had lots of great activities going on, starting with our 10:30 am Worship Service.  Afterward, we gathered for food, conversations, and an adult Bible class, in which we're studying Revelation, one of the most fascinating books of the Bible.  If you'd like to watch a video of this Bible Study, please contact Pastor Mark.  Children also gathered for Sunday School, which we present every Sunday for children of all ages.  These classes are full of activities and teaching, so the children learn how much God loves them!

If you live in the Burton area, please consider joining us for any or all of these great events!

Here is information about todays worship service:

SCRIPTURE READINGS FOR SUNDAY
  First Reading:   Acts 20:17–35
              Psalm:  Psalm 23
             Epistle:  Revelation 7:9–17
            Gospel:  John 10:22–30

OUR THEME FOR WORSHIP SUNDAY
It is Good Shepherd Sunday, and the familiar twenty-third Psalm is echoed throughout our worship.  Our Lord went through the valley of the shadow of death in our place, leading from death to eternal life.
In today’s gospel reading, some Jews claim Jesus has not told them who He is.  Jesus points out their problem; they know who He is but refuse to believe it.  They are not among His sheep.  When we struggle in this way, Jesus reminds us:  His promises are clear, certain & life-changing!
