The Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost
August 22, 2021
Psalm: Psalm 14
Epistle: Ephesians 5:6–21
Gospel: John 6:60–69
Each of our readings today speak of the world’s rejection of God’s Word, John’s gospel includes even some disciples walk away from Jesus. Paul observes “the days are evil…”, and they still are today. What should be the Christian’s response? Paul encourages us to “make the best use of the time” and Peter is spot-on: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”
Where shall we go? Of course, we go to Jesus and receive all the gifts He gives to us. But where shall we go in our communities? How and who should we invite to Come See Jesus?
Peace in Christ,
